Fellowship Trained Hand & Upper Extremity Surgeon

Dr. Luther is a fellowship trained Hand and Upper Extremity Surgeon. He earned his BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) & MD degree from the University of Chicago. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Harvard Medical School- training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital & Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Meet Dr Luther

Dr. Luther’s practice focuses on the optimal treatment of patients undergoing hand and upper extremity surgery. He emphasizes minimally invasive techniques and effective pain control to allow for rapid recovery. In addition, he specializes in complex problems of the upper extremity including degenerative and rheumatoid arthritis, nerve compression, pediatric hand anomalies, and athletic injuries.

Carpal tunnel syndrome can be surgically treated with carpal tunnel release surgery. While traditional surgery involves an incision of up to 2 inches in the palm and wrist area, endoscopic surgery involves one-quarter of an inch incision and patients can return to work the next day
